ABOUT US
We are the oldest Church in Morriston! Libanus is Welsh for Lebanon, in the Bible Lebanon is a place full of life, growth and flourishing. Our name reminds us that we are a place where grow, flourish and find life by knowing Jesus.
Morriston has changed a lot in 250 years but Libanus is still open sharing hope, truth and life.
Libanus is a friendly church filled with people and families from all backgrounds and careers. All our activities and events open to anyone in our community!
Biblical
We believe the Bible is like no other book or media because it was written by God. Every word is inspired and preserved by God and without any errors or mistakes. The Bible answers big questions like who is God, why do we exist, do we need saving, how we can be saved and how we should live? The Bible is our final authority in every matter.
Reformed
We believe God rules over all things including creation, history and salvation. Salvation is a gift from God nobody can earn it and we cannot save ourselves. We need God to make our hearts alive. Through the Bible we read that only Jesus can save us, and he does this by grace, through faith which brings glory and honour to God alone.
Congregational
We believe Jesus is the head of the Church and he delegates his authority to the members of each local gathering to govern the local church.
The membership is committed to prayerfully seek the will and mind of Christ in all decisions, including appointing leaders. We are autonomous and Independent but accountable to Jesus.
Evangelistic
We believe all Christians should be involved in spreading the gospel of Jesus. The truth about Jesus is the only way to be saved and can save anyone.
We can be evangelistic by preaching, prayer, private conversations and personal invites to events. Jesus is good news for everyone and everyone must hear about who he is and what he has done.
