Happy St David's Day 2022

Updated: Mar 2, 2022

From everyone at Libanus Church we would like to wish you a happy St David’s Day!

Last year we were sadly we were not able to hold our St David’s Day event in person as we would normally do. We were limited to delivering boxes and an online video which we watched in our own homes. However, this year we were back to our traditional ‘Cawl a Caws’ evening.

This year was not just St David’s Day, but it was also Pancake Day, just over 60 new and old faces gathered with us to celebrate. We were incredibly full after our homemade cawl (and seconds), Welsh cakes topped off by tea and pancakes.

There was also a varied Quiz from pancakes to castles, for those of you who couldn’t join us we have attached the Quiz below, we have also posted the answers to avoid anyone getting too frustrated.

We also had a short lively messaged focused on what it means to be Welsh and what it means to be a Christian and any similarities between them. It is great being Welsh, we are blessed to live where we live but there is nothing that can compare to the joy of knowing Jesus. Many of us in Wales know the longing of our country, Hiraeth but there is no greater longing than to know what life is all about and to know that God loves us, and that Jesus has come to forgive us of everything we have ever done wrong.

We ended the evening by singing some famous Welsh hymns and songs ending with a stirring rendition of the Welsh national anthem. Libanus Church would like to thank everyone who came and celebrated with us but especially to those who made the food and hosted the tables.

If you would like to join us for one of our Libanus meals, then we have a Talk and Tea event every other Thursday open for everyone. Our next Talk and Tea event is on Thursday 10thMarch, 12:30pm in the Centrepoint building.
